NMD-104 - Network PWM Motor Driver

The NMD-104 is a computer controlled 4 axis motor driver for dc brushed motors with inputs of 6-18 vdc at less than 1 amp. With a simple software protocol, motors can be moved for a duration or with potentiometer feedback to a position. A feedback input is available for each axis. Each motor’s speed can be controlled through a software settable pulse width modulation of the output. The unit requires 15-28 vdc input power with current dependent on the application.

The NMD-104 may be mounted to a surface or to a DIN rail with an optional adapter. Motor connections are made to removable terminal blocks so that custom cables are not required. With an envelope of 3” x 3” x 2.5” the NMD-104 will fit in a small NEMA box or outdoor camera enclosure.

The NMD-104 can be used for many applications such as positioning, robotics, and security lens control. See the AN-1002A “NMD-104 as a Lens Controller” application note for an example application where the NMD-104 controls a motorized Zoom, Focus, Iris (ZFI) lens such as the models built by Computar, Fujinon, and Rainbow.
